Mental Health

The MAP counselor can be your resource when you or your family members experience intense feelings that you struggle to handle. The MAP can provide professional and cost-effective referrals for help with mental health issues such as:

  • Stress
  • Low Self-Esteem
  • Suicidal Thinking
  • Grief
  • Precertification for Neuropsychological testing
  • Anxiety
  • Depression
  • Anger Management

Family and Relationships

Sometimes things happen within a family or relationship that can cause distress, anger, fear, or grief. A MAP counselor can help you find professional support to deal with:

  • Marital and family relationship problems
  • Problems with children or teens
  • Violence in the home
  • Parenting skills
  • Financial problems
  • Death of a loved one

Addiction

Anyone can begin to abuse alcohol, become over-dependent on prescription medication or become hooked on illegal drugs. The MAP counselors recognize chemical dependency to be a treatable illness. The MAP counselors can help you or a covered dependent find appropriate treatment. The MAP counselors can help:

  • Prevent alcohol or drug abuse
  • Assess your own use of drugs or alcohol
  • Deal with the emotional effects of growing up in a family afflicted by drug or alcohol use
  • Recognize alcohol abuse or drug abuse
  • Cope with another person’s use of alcohol or drugs
  • Assist with failed drug tests
