Types of Defined Benefit Pensions

(For a more complete description, including rules applicable to prior periods, consult your Summary Plan Description booklet)

The Electrical Workers I.B.E.W. Local No. 701 Pension Plan provides several types of pensions. Each type of pension also has rules regarding the optional forms of payment that may be elected. This section describes rules applicable to employees who retire on or after January 1, 1999.

A number of factors are taken into account in calculating the amount of pension, such as age, marital status, number of Pension Credits you earn before the Contribution Period, and the amount of contributions made to the Fund on your behalf during the Contribution Period.

You can get a description of the Pension Types by clicking on it from the list in the left column.
