The IBEW Local 701 Pension Fund is a Defined Benefit Plan providing a
monthly benefit to members who meet age and eligibility requirements, and
who file an application with the Fund Office.
You are eligible to earn Pension Credits and
Vesting Service when you
are a participant in the Pension Plan. Generally, you become a participant in the Plan on
the earliest January 1 or July 1 after:
-
You complete a 12-month period as an employee, and
-
You accumulate at least 500 hours of work during that time.
For example, if you started work on April 1, 1993 and completed 500
hours of work before April 1, 1994, you became a Plan participant on July 1, 1994.
